Dear Discouragement…By Haley Tripoli

Success is the ability to go from failure to failure without losing your enthusiasm. Winston Churchill

College is full of many rough drafts, consider this a rough draft.

There are ,inevitably, times in each and everyone’s world where forks in the road are evident, (especially as college students)-Times when all you want to do is crawl into a ball and fall asleep, blocking out the reality of your day and the many questions you seem to pose to yourself after illuminating situations. It is seriously important…not to panic and shut down, but to analyze all possible routes and to revaluate and then reinvent some everyday routines. This is essential in order to direct yourself towards happiness. As a student, a girl becoming a woman, and simply (but not simply) a human being-I understand that all we can hope for is to find what is calling us…or who is calling us. Through all the papers, exams, readings, and all the events, jobs, and opportunities, we must remember to love ourselves…and remember to open ourselves up to those who want to love us through the times when we aren’t so sure of our direction, or even our intended route. So, if we can let go of our doubts and try to put one foot in front of the other…well then eventually our try will become do and happiness wont exist as such a distant concept; fulfillment wont seem so far away.

To love and be loved is everything,

people help the people———–so that they may love themselves.
