Friday, October 12th, the Inter-Cultural Center (ICC) hosted their annual Global Bazaar at 7pm in the Gorge. The event received unusually high attendance and the various artists, speakers, and food provided lasting entertainment for the evening.
This year, the Global Bazaar was themed after Breast Cancer Awareness. Guest speaker and Green Mountain College alumni José Gálvez Contreras gave a powerful speech about his mother who is suffering from cancer. The ICC gave away small pink ribbons to help set the mood and served food from several different countries including Nigeria and Vietnam.
Overall, the event was a success and displayed why diversity and cultural awareness are important values here in the Green Mountain College Community.
