Family, Friends, and Alumni Weekend!

By Binh Bui ’14

The weekend is coming along. As a normal human being, I know all of you are excited about it (and probably wake up tomorrow screaming TGIF!) Maybe saying “all of you” is a little extreme as I obviously have not befriended with all of you on Facebook. I am, however, very confident to tell you that all GMC students are excited right now. In case you ask why can I be so sure about it? Well, because this weekend is the family, friend, and alumni weekend at GMC, and with my experience past three years at GMC, I guarantee you it will be fun. You see your parents coming to visit you, and they bring your cute little (or huge) dog. For upper class students, this is the chance to see your “long-time-no-see” good friends, who graduated from last several years. Can anything be better than this? You can argue that a Ben & Jerrys ice-cream brings you more happiness than this event, but what is last longer? Your memory, about what’s going to happen this weekend, at GMC.

I am really sorry if you read this and complain about my informal writing style. If you often visit this page, you will know that I usually write academically formal style or interviews. This post is an exception, a short blog for all people who are and will be GMC alumni, who I prefer calling friends. I hope you have a wonderful time at GMC this weekend! Welcome back home!

Because it’s always fun to chat with your team in front of Withey when it’s nice and sunny outside.

“Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds.” ― Albert Einstein

“A day without sunshine is like, you know, night.” ― Steve Martin

“Everything you can imagine is real.” ― Pablo Picasso

Can you realize who’s in this photo? It’s Paul Fonteyn, our friendly and supportive President! There is no where else in this planet, except GMC, you can find a college president tried to learn to longboard just because a student wanted to teach him that. 🙂
